matter and core
Malta
Matter and core is a small, Malta-based creative business founded and operated by an architect and an engineer. We produce decorative, functional and personalised products using digital fabrication techniques, primarily 3D printing, laser cutting and engraving.
Our products are developed in-house, from the initial concept and digital design through to prototyping, production, assembly and finishing. Each item is designed using digital modelling and graphic design software, with particular attention given to form, material, colour, functionality and the intended use of the product. Designs are tested and refined before being produced in small batches or customised to suit individual clients, events and special occasions.
We are directly involved throughout the production process. This includes developing original product concepts, preparing or adapting digital files, selecting materials and finishes, producing prototypes, operating the 3D-printing and laser-cutting equipment, assembling and finishing the items, carrying out quality checks and preparing the finished products for sale.
Personalised products may be customised with names, dates, messages, colour schemes or other details requested by the client. All items are produced and finished locally by us in small batches or on a made-to-order basis, allowing us to maintain direct control over their quality and presentation.
